About Right Winners Training Centre (2021-2023)

The inception of Right Winners Training Centre (RWTC) dates back to 2022. The idea for establishing this institution originated with Mr. Robert Magesa, who has a strong belief in entrepreneurship and the creation of employment opportunities. Their vision is rooted in the concept of self-employment, generating jobs, and providing diverse prospects for various individuals, particularly the youth. The narrative of RWTC's establishment is detailed below:

Mr. Robert Magesa had long harboured a dream of opening an educational institution, driven by his unwavering commitment to self-employment and job creation. Even during his leadership in a choir group, he initiated a sewing project within the choir known as KWAYA YA WATAKATIFU WOTE – SINON PARISH with the goal of providing employment for the youth within the group who lacked steady sources of income. This idea garnered significant attention and led to the practical establishment of the sewing project. However, due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, the project suffered setbacks, as it heavily relied on donors who were adversely affected by the pandemic. Eventually, the project had to be closed.

However, the closure of the project did not deter Mr. Robert's determination to support the youth. He began to contemplate the idea of establishing an educational institution aimed at equipping young people with the skills they needed to create their own employment opportunities. Despite lacking substantial financial resources at the time, he continued to brainstorm ways to bring this vision to life. He decided to seek partners who shared his vision, and that's when he involved his close friend, Mr. Joseph Mbowe. They had initially crossed paths in political youth leadership roles.

When Mr. Joseph joined the effort, he had his own dream of creating an educational institution to empower young people who had been marginalized within the formal education system. Thus, both Mr. Robert and Mr. Joseph, who had met through their shared dreams and common purpose, began working together to realize their vision.

As Mr. Robert and Joseph started working together, Mr. Joseph made the decision to close his small training centre, where he had been providing various training programs to young people and employing his own instructors. He joined forces with the new institution they had agreed to establish. Their collaboration continued as they approached the building owner to discuss their plan to open an educational institution. Mr. SAID MOHAMED KONDO received their proposal with full support and commitment, offering several months of rent-free accommodation to kick-start the project. The next step was to come up with a name for the institution. In unison, Mr. Robert and Mr. Joseph agreed that the institution should be named 'Right Winners Training Centre,' signifying it as the right place for providing training that would lead to success for many young people. Their primary focus was to assist those who had been excluded from the government's formal education systems due to eligibility criteria, giving hope to those who had felt discouraged and left out.

The institution began by offering supplementary classes to secondary school students during the 2022 census holiday in August. This was a way to introduce the centre to the community by providing extra lessons and computer training, led by the General Manager, who was in charge of the Communications Department. At that time, there were only two computers available. Initially, they managed the operation themselves and later recruited one volunteer teacher. Mr. Joseph Mbowe served as the Head of Department, and from that point, they began promoting the centre by opening social media accounts, creating posts, and conducting various promotional activities. During this period, Mr. Joseph Mbowe took on the role of the institution's principal, and Mr. Robert Magesa served as the General Manager. In a short time, they were able to reach out to over 52 individuals, offering free English courses as part of the institution's annual goals.

The activity of officially registering the institution was ongoing, while Mr. Robert overseeing it as the General Director and General Manager. Recognizing the importance of registration, they decided that it would be appropriate to register the institution under the ownership of Mr. Robert as Director while Mr. Joseph remaining as a shareholder, as during that period he had another institution he was managing, and the registration was proposed to be within the framework of the Adult Education Institute (IPP).

This strategy allowed them to speed up the registration process and reach the beneficiaries more quickly, without being hindered by bureaucratic procedures. Their long-term plan involved registering with the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) as the governing body for vocational colleges.
